Surface mining

Open-pit traffic moves fast and heavy. We design how haul trucks, light vehicles and people share the site — then use the data to make it safer and cheaper to run.

The interactions we design for.

Each one needs its own mix of traffic rules, detection settings and machine response.

  • Intersections

Haul trucks and light vehicles crossing paths. Give-way rules, sightlines and detection zones designed together.

  • Ramps and haul roads

Following distance, overtaking and opposing traffic — with zones tuned so passing trucks don’t trigger nuisance alarms.

  • People on foot

Workshops, crushers and field crews. Tags, exclusion zones and a Level 9 stop when someone enters the critical zone.

  • Loading and dumping

Trucks queuing, spotting and reversing around excavators, loaders and dump edges.

Watch it play out.

A simulated open pit: haul trucks give way at the intersection, warnings escalate as zones overlap, and trucks stop when a person steps into the critical zone.

On the platform

Fuel and brakes on the ramp.

On long loaded ramps and descents, speed profiles and retarder use drive fuel burn and brake wear. The platform finds the cycles that cost the most and simulates better ones.
